Lower Fleet Fuel Bills

    • Create and enforce speeding policy to realize better fuel economy
    • Eliminate idling by knowing the status of your vehicles:                                                       (1 hour idling = about 2 gallons)
    • Eliminate Any Unauthorized driving:                                                                                   (nights, weekends, breaks, lunch, “moonlighting”)
    • Using dispatching tools to decrease fuel usage
    • Verify fuel you are paying is actually going in YOUR vehicles
    • Create “Green” Initiative through reduced impact on planet

David works as a trucker driver.  He makes mostly in-state deliveries of materials to building supply companies, often taking him overnight to complete his drop.  While it is assumed that he doesn't travel at high speeds because he is driving a large truck, he often goes as fast as 90 mph to try and get to his delivery location faster.  Along the way, he takes breaks at rest-stops and sits in the truck with the engine running, usually at 30 minute intervals.  He is supposed to go directly to his delivery location and back, but he frequently makes side trips along the way.  It is not uncommon to go 30 minutes out of his way to visit friends and relatives.  Since he is paid hourly, his company wants him to complete his drop as quickly as possible. After implementing Virtual Fleet Supervisor, he was no longer allowed to travel faster than 65 mph which increased his overall fuel economy by 12%.  He also was limited to one 30 minute break per day and he was required to turn the engine off during that break.  Finally, he was forced to cut out all side trips during his deliveries which eliminated extra gas consumption that the company has been paying for.  Overall, his company saved 15 gallons of gas per week and 60 per month. This saved his company $180 per month overall on their fuel bills just for this one employee.
